Deokaali Temple
Ancient Devi temple associated with Sita and Goddess Girija Devi.
Deokaali Temple is a revered Hindu shrine near Naya Ghat in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, associated with traditional stories from the Ramayana. According to local belief, Mother Sita arrived in Ayodhya after her marriage to Lord Rama carrying an idol of Goddess Girija Devi. King Dashrath is traditionally believed to have built a temple for the sacred idol, where Sita worshipped the Devi. The temple is now home to an impressive statue of Goddess Devkali, regarded as the local deity. Its association with Sita, King Dashrath and the Ramayana gives the shrine an important place in Ayodhya’s religious heritage and pilgrimage tradition.
